The Context

EOL, a local internet service provider, were launching Bleep!, a content filtering product offered free to existing customers, while also acting as a key acquisition tool for new users. The challenge was to introduce the product in a way that felt cohesive with the existing brand, while still giving it enough distinct personality to stand out as a campaign in its own right.

The Opportunity

To build a campaign that communicated internet safety in a clear, engaging, and accessible way, appealing to families and businesses, while remaining approachable for younger audiences. The goal was to balance functionality and clarity with a character led creative approach.

What I did

  • Developed a supporting visual system that extended the existing EOL brand while giving Bleep! a distinct campaign identity

  • Introduced a character led concept using a robot (sourced imagery) to communicate technology in a more approachable way

  • Designed supporting graphic elements including bold shapes and motifs to reinforce messaging around digital safety

  • Built a flexible design system adaptable across family and business audiences

  • Created campaign assets across digital advertising, animated social content, and print placements including outdoor media

  • Contributed to a large scale activation featuring a custom built 3D robot launched via weather balloon, capturing real footage for campaign use across digital and PR channels

Outcome

A distinctive campaign that positioned Bleep! as both a valuable addition for existing customers and an engaging entry point for new audiences. The visual approach balanced clarity and trust with personality, making internet safety more accessible across multiple demographics. A standout near space activation generated national media coverage, extended campaign visibility beyond traditional channels, and strengthened audience engagement.

Campiagn Highlight

As part of a New Zealand first near space research initiative, a custom built Bleep! robot was launched via weather balloon from Ōhaupō, ascending 35.3km into the stratosphere above the Bay of Plenty to capture real footage and support atmospheric research. After descending by parachute and landing in the Kaituna wetlands, the activation gained national television coverage and strong online traction, significantly extending campaign reach beyond standard digital and print advertising.
